And, in case you're wondering, virtuous living isn't existence in vegetation nor is it living in decadence. It's simply striving to fulfill your potential while contributing positively to the world. It's about being necessary in a world that demands you remain grossly irrelevant.
Now, staying positive is the key, as we're not headed to a utopia anytime soon; it's the strong, resilient men and women who will rebuild our fractured world.

I can share my own experience, which was quite the journey.
When I transitioned out of the Marine Corps and back into civilian life, I faced a brutal culture shock. Suddenly, I had to fend for myself, and it was overwhelming. The challenges were relentless. But I viewed this period as another crucible, a trial that would mold me into a better version of myself. I knew it was time to drop unhealthy habits, like smoking, and work on my physical well-being.
I remember the words of Jordan Peterson: "Never do something you know you should not do." Armed with this wisdom, I consciously cut out negative habits from my life. The power of change lies in conscious action, stepping away from impulsive decisions and using our rational minds to create a better life. This is how we can contribute to the betterment of ourselves and, in turn, the world around us.
Daily Habits for Resilience
I have a routine that kick-starts my day. It begins with sipping water and a few pull-ups, followed by a light breakfast. Then, I step outside to witness the first rays of sunlight as they paint the horizon. This is my time for mindfulness meditation, where I take slow, deep breaths, absorbing the tranquility of the world awakening around me.
This morning ritual sets the tone for my day. It's a sacred moment where I connect with the world and humanity's collective soul through contemplation and positive emotions. It might sound like a stretch, but it's my way of acknowledging the interconnectedness of all things, all against the backdrop of a quiet, still morning.
I think about the futures we could have, and a world united under a single banner that respects a thousand voices. Beautiful dreams to put out, mayhaps one day that'll come true.

I work for a future that's worth living in because if we don't work for it now, someone else will define it for us.

I remind myself of the pleasant tone in my podcasting voice and my creative imagination, which has endowed me with the gift of storytelling. These actions serve to drown out the critical voice that fixates on spelling errors, late postings, and the occasional broken link.
I've had to gently remind myself that, despite my best efforts to fuse with my laptop, I am, in fact, a mortal being confined to my physical form. The wrinkled organ in my skull is prone to making mistakes, and it's important to show understanding toward it.
These subtle shifts in self-talk are instrumental in silencing the inner critic and nurturing a more positive mindset within me. Always remember to be kind to yourself, for you truly deserve it.
